Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) for managing obesity – NOT recommended for primary care prescribing

 

On 23rd December 2024 the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) published their final recommendation on the use of tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) for managing obesity. Information on Tirzepatide for obesity has been added to the website. This provides further background information and confirms that GPs cannot currently prescribe tirzepatide or other GLP-1 receptor agonists for obesity.
